Blogging Live from the Town Hall Right Now

We’re blogging live from the meeting of the Mayor and Commissioners of Elkton right now and we have a few observations we thought we’d get into the blogosphere.  Normally Elkton meetings are attended by only a handful of regular citizens and two or three, at most, may offer remarks.

As I sit here typing, the room is packed, which is such a good thing since more public involvement is what produces a balance in government. The entire space is full with nearly every chair occupied and the back of the room filled with standing citizens.   A quick headcount indicates that there are about 70 people here. Most are testifying about the wells that are being tested to see if there’s sufficient water to develop a large housing project on Frenchtown Road. Several of the people testifying made dramatic statements and points.  We’ll get more up on that as we get time.

We’ll post more as things happen
