With our virtual dashboard we’re able to see lots of information and data about traffic on the web site. One I was pleased to see is that the post on the courthouse relocation from downtown is attracting lots of readers. It’s good to see that there’s such an interest in the piece on what’s happening downtown. We’re going to continue with that subject since this having a vital central business district is important to the health of any community and the Mayor and Commissioners are committing substantial resources to fund the Alliance’s work in the district. We’ll follow-up with several more pieces examining the subject from the historical perspective of what’s been done and what the outcomes of those interventions were, as well as looking forward. Stay tuned. We’ll keep working these pieces up, but, meanwhile, I’m pleased that people are finding the Rising Sun Herald piece by Editor Tome of interest. When it first appeared it added to my knoweldge of that important loss to the business community.
Purpose
Originally concentrating on saving some Public Open Space Elkton proposed selling to a developer, we expanded the blog's focus once the Mayor and Commissioners abandoned the attempt. During the nearly year-long process, Someone Noticed found that many important subjects at town meetings weren’t being covered by the media and we also established a regular readership. In consideration of all these elements, we are now focusing more broadly on the “411 on the Mayor and Commissioners of the Town of Elkton” and subjects of broad civic interest to the Greater Elkton Community, especially when it isn't covered by other media.
