Activists Accuse Cecil Co. SPCA Of Animal Cruelty
CECIL COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) ―
Dozens of residents in one Maryland county plan on giving their commissioners an earful Tuesday night. They’re outraged over treatment of animals at a local SPCA shelter. They’re holding a rally and vigil in Elkton, where county commissioners are already meeting to discuss the budget for 2009. Derek Valcourt reports they’re calling for an investigation into the complaints.
Troubling allegations of animal cruelty have plagued the Cecil County SPCA for months. Now a planned rally may force county leaders to do something about it.
Jennifer Snelling’s dog was her pride and joy. She says he died last year at the Cecil County SPCA after a simple surgery went wrong and the facility left her dog lying in pain, bleeding.
