Group close to hiring director for Main Street
PRINCESS ANNE — A part-time director for the town’s new Main Street Maryland program could be on the job as soon as April to help market the downtown area and attract new businesses. About 12 resumes have been submitted for the part-time position, and committee members so far have narrowed them down to seven, said Jim Theiss of the Princess Anne Partnership which was successful in getting the Main Street designation for the town last year.
The committee is expected to whittle the applicants down even further before three or four finalists are asked to come in for interviews, he said. The town has received a $30,000 grant for the director’s salary, which will be split over a two-year period. The new director will work 20 hours per week, he sad.
