You might say it was an event that was more than 200 years in the making. On Saturday, June 13, the newly restored Stone House was dedicated at Elk Landing in Elkton. Scene of a War of 1812 battle, a busy colonial port and possibly a frontier trading post that dates to the late 1600s, the Stone House at Elk Landing has been a witness to centuries of Cecil County history. But as recently as 1999, the house was in danger of collapse due to neglect.
