Ed Okonowicz, author of a new book, True Crime Maryland, The State’s Most Notorious Criminal Cases, will be on hand at Kathy’s Corner Store, 100 S. Main Street, North East, on Saturday, August 1 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a book signing. This fascinating title blends accou
nts of sensational crimes and stern punishment with history and mystery. Okonowicz produced an enjoyable, easy-to read portrait of the state’s notorious and fascinating criminal legacy.
The softcover volume includes such stories as the disappearance of diplomat Bradford Bishop, the Beltway Snipers, the attempted assassination of George Wallace in Laurel, one of the country’st first murders arranged through the Internet and several other sensational stories related to true crime in the Old Line State.
