Cecil County Comprehensive Plan Citizens Oversight Forum Underway

It’s a busy evening at the county office building on the Mason-Dixon Line as a public forum concerning the new comprehensive plan gets underway.  We’re in the commissioners main meeting room and there’s a large crowd here (the room is full). Obviously there’s a greal deal of interest in the work of the Citizens Oversight Committee, as one of the consultants starts a 20-minute summary of what’s in the draft document, which provides the framework to guide growth and development in Cecil County.  The county is projected to grow to 154,954 by 2030 from its 2000 base of 85,951.  This document updates the 1990 plan and it looks out 20-years.  If some attention grabbing subjects come up, we’ll blog it live.  Otherwise we’ll do a summary of what went on tomorrow since the meeting is scheduled to go for for 2 1/2 hours.
