Since 2007 Governor Martin O’Malley has brought state government to every corner of Maryland through a series of monthly events called “Capital for a Day.” It’s Cecil County’s turn on August 27, 2009. The County Department of Economic Development has arranged for the governor and his staff to spend the day in the county. His day will start with a cabinet meeting at Fairwinds Stables near Calvert. From there he will travel to the School of Technology in Bay View, where he will meet with staff and students while having lunch. After that he’s off to North East for a walk down Main Street, before concluding his day at the head of the Bay.
Previous “Capitals” have included Westminster, Hagerstown, Chestertown, Leonardtown, the Port Towns of Prince George’s County, Cumberland, Pocomoke City, Gaithersburg, Calvert County, and Ellicott City.
We’ve been monitoring the governor’s web site for a press release and as soon as one is released we’ll link to the announcement. Click here to read the county’s announcement.
