September 3, 2009 (Elkton, Md.) – Chris Zeauskas, a Cecil County business owner and community leader, is filing today to run for Cecil County Commissioner in District 2. Zeauskas is a 36 year old father of three living in Elkton with his wife and family. He’s been a Maryland resident for 33 years.
After graduating from high school in 1991, Chris worked at Maryland Metal Processing Inc., a steel mill in Baltimore County. Demonstrating the value of hard work and perseverance, Chris climbed the ladder in his company demonstrating business acumen and leadership. Within five years of starting work as a floor sweeper at the steel mill, Chris became the assistant plant manager. After three years in upper level management, Chris decided to go into business for himself. As owner and operator of Premier Colors Inc., the business he currently owns and operates, Chris knows and understands the challenges of being a business owner and is committed to helping strengthen the local economy.
As a newcomer to Cecil County politics, Chris hit the ground running becoming a leader in the community. He spearheaded grassroots effort to get citizens involved with the local government. Chris started, and now leads, the Cecil Citizens Against Taxation, a non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting the taxpayer from out-of-control government spending. Chris is also an active member of the Cecil County Campaign for Liberty, a non-profit 501(c)4 organization dedicated to restoring our country to its founding principles, namely Constitutional government. In addition, Chris serves as the Vice President for the Cecil County Young Republican Club.
Chris serves on the Board of Trustees at the Elkton Presbyterian Church where he and his family attend services on a regular basis.
