Over the past few years we’ve carefully watched as Port Deposit has become a regional destination spot for fine dining. As a result this holiday season we often headed that way to enjoy excellent meals in the ambiance of a historic river town. Once we arrived on Main Street, though, we had to mull over four excellent options, including Backfin Blues, Joe’s Groggery, Jacob Marleys and C.M. Tuggs. You won’t go wrong with any of these and each serves a different market niche.
Before arriving in the town along the Susquehanna River, we often spent a few hours in some of Cecil County’s revitalized downtowns, enjoying the atmosphere of the holiday and shopping for unique items. The hustle and bustle we found in North East, Chesapeake City and Port Deposit was so exciting to see and the historical atmosphere, along with unique shops, makes them destination spots for tourists far beyond Cecil County’s borders.
