Press Release From Cecil County Charter Board
Elkton, MD – The Charter Board, appointed by the Cecil County Commissioners in March 2009, is proud to announce that the draft Charter of Cecil County is now available on the Cecil County Government website at www.ccgov.org/commissioners/charterboard.cfm
The Charter of Cecil County is a document that would change the present commissioner form of government to charter home rule government if approved by the voters in the November 2, 2010 election. The proposed charter document defines the duties, power, rules, procedures, and structure of local county government and the rights of our voters/citizens. Charter Board members will provide an overview of the document, and the public will have an opportunity to provide input and ask questions. In addition to the public forums, charter presentation meetings are being scheduled for organizations and agencies within the County.
Voters are encouraged to attend the information forums.
