Mid-Shore Life, an attractive local content blog and web site, concentrating on art, culture and entertainment on the Upper Eastern Shore, including Cecil County, just came to our attention. We found informative pieces on local events, fine dining, and shopping, while surfing through the posts. Publishers Cyndi and John note that Mid-Shore Life was created so people living on the Eastern Shore would have one place on the World Wide Web to find this content of this type for the Shore. They’re off to a good start so Someone Noticed is going to make it one of our regular reading stops. Often our entertainment and dining interest take us to some of the fine old downtowns on the Eastern Shore, places such as Chesterton, Easton, and Cambridge. However, it’s a challenge to keep up with what’s happening on that part of Delmarva. Now that we’re aware of Mid-Shore life, that task got easier. It also has a number of blogs authored by writers with various regional interests, such as the Centrevillian by Mary McCarthy. Thanks Cyndi and John for creating a valuable product for readers who want to know, We’ve already discovered some advertisers we’re going to check out.
Purpose
Originally concentrating on saving some Public Open Space Elkton proposed selling to a developer, we expanded the blog's focus once the Mayor and Commissioners abandoned the attempt. During the nearly year-long process, Someone Noticed found that many important subjects at town meetings weren’t being covered by the media and we also established a regular readership. In consideration of all these elements, we are now focusing more broadly on the “411 on the Mayor and Commissioners of the Town of Elkton” and subjects of broad civic interest to the Greater Elkton Community, especially when it isn't covered by other media.
