Walker Says He’s Throwing Support Behind Mayor Fisona Because Commissioner Storke Wants to Raise Taxes

Hours before the deadline passed for candidates to file for the upcoming May 25th municipal Election, Wes Walker withdrew from the race and swung his support behind Mayor Joseph Fisona.  The withdrawal of the downtown business person who focused his campaign on the need to revitalize downtown Elkton leaves two hopefuls, Mayor Joseph Fisona and Commissioner Gary Storke.  Both of these office-seekers are campaigning hard and this promises to be one of the most contested elections in years.  “I’m putting my support behind Joe because with the other two in the race I was splitting the vote and I feel that Joe Fisonia is the best,” he explained to Someone Noticed.  “I want a fiscal conservative in office and Gary is in favor of raising taxes.”
