The Mayor and commissioners are scheduled to meet in a workshop session on May 12 at 4:00 p.m. and the town has shared the subjects the officials are examining. Those include the FY 2011 budget, investment rates at local banks, the Elkton Police FOP Collective Bargaining Agreement, and an ordinance for crediting major facilities charges. These are all important subjects, some of which have been involved in great controversy, so the elected officials will have a busy work-session that is important to the public.
The public sharing of the agenda is helpful since it allows citizens to participate more effectively in the democratic process.
