Press Release From the Michael Dunn for Commissioner Campaign
Thursday, July 1, 2010 (Elkton, MD) - Michael Dunn, a local community leader, is filing today to run for Cecil County Commissioner in District 3. He is a 31 year old resident of Rising Sun and has lived in Cecil County all of his adult life.
Dunn has been active in the community for the past 10 years, working on a variety of issues ranging from growth in the county to creating an elected school board. From 2002 to 2006, he served as an elected member of the Republican Central Committee and treasurer of the Cecil County Republican Party. Dunn is also a co-founder of the Cecil County Young Republicans and a former treasurer of the Cecil Citizens Against Taxation and the Maryland Liberty PAC. He was a congressional intern for Congressman Wayne Gilchrest and has worked for State Senators Bob Hooper and Nancy Jacobs and Delegate Michael D. Smigiel, Sr. Currently, he is a member of the Rising Sun Board of Zoning Appeals.
Dunn graduated high school in 1997 and attended both Cecil College and the University of Delaware. For the past eight years, he has served as a legislative aide in the Maryland General Assembly.
