Over 5,000 Cecil County Delmarva Power Customers Without Electricity After Severe Thunderstorm Sweeps Across County

Elkton, Sept. 21, 2010, 9:30 p.m. – A cluster of severe thunderstorms with high winds and intense lighting swept across northern and central Cecil County around 9:00 p.m., this evening.  As a result emergency service and utility crews are busy at this hour answering dozens of calls.  At 9:30 p.m., about 12% of Delmarva Power’s customers in the county are without electricity, according to the company website.  If you’re not one of the nearly 5,500 households without power this evening, click here to go over to the company website for the latest information, pinpointing service interruption areas and the number of customers affected.

Update – Thursday 6:00 a.m. Service has not been restored for 1,534 customers

  1. That was some storm last night. I was reading USA Today and I didn’t think it was going to stop. We did get some much needed rain though. Mowing grass on Monday evening was very dusty.
