Elkton, Sept. 21, 2010, 9:30 p.m. – A cluster of severe thunderstorms with high winds and intense lighting swept across northern and central Cecil County around 9:00 p.m., this evening. As a result emergency service and utility crews are busy at this hour answering dozens of calls. At 9:30 p.m., about 12% of Delmarva Power’s customers in the county are without electricity, according to the company website. That was some storm last night. I was reading USA Today and I didn’t think it was going to stop. We did get some much needed rain though. Mowing grass on Monday evening was very dusty.
