With five hours to go before thee polls close at 8 p.m., about 28% of the registered Cecil County voters have cast their ballots as of 3 p.m. That number should climb significantly as people get home from work and head out to have their say. At 3:00 p.m. today 12,549 people had cast ballots at county polling precincts. That’s slightly more than double the turnout for the same time during the primary as the total stood at 6,004
There are 59,837 registered voters and of this number 3,389 went to the polls during early balloting and the Election Board advises that there are about 1,000 absentee ballots to be counted later. Thus, Cecil County’s participation in the county stands at 28% at 3:00 p.m.
