At this point, the early results have been released. That tally represents the 3,387 votes that were cast in the days leading up to Nov. 2. At this point, the election board is waiting for results to come in from the precincts. During the primary Elkton and polling places near the county office building arrived here first and by 9:00 p.m. those results were being quickly released. But at 8:00 p.m. this evening it was reported that many locations had lines waiting to vote and at 8:30 p.m. in some locations, voters were still waiting to reach a machine. Some of those locations include Cherry Hill, Calvert, and Thomson Estates. There could be others. That’ll make the results a bit later this evening.

There’s only a small crowd out here at the county office building, watching the results come. We estimate it is less than two dozen people. In earlier years the courthouse was crowded as people waited for the results come in.
