In the last few minutes several fire protection professionals and engineers from the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the State Firemen’s Association, and sprinkler contractors have brought some clarity to the technical matters that have been discussed. They clarified areas about the effectiveness of the sprinkler systems, cost, maintenance and much more.
It was also noted that the Fire Marshal’s Office had just received word that the Harford County Council had just passed its sprinkler ordinance 7 to 0.
The pubic hearing, which is approaching three hours, appears to be near the end, but some fire service representatives are still testifying.
