Blogging Live from the County Administration Building
It’s a couple of minutes after 7:00 p.m. and we’re out at the county office building on the Delaware State Line as the public hearing that’s required before the commissioners can change the residential sprinkler ordinance that went into effect on Jan. 1 gets underway. The large commissioners meeting room has a standing room only crowd, with a large representation from the Cecil County Fire Service.
The proposed ordinance changes the language of the code’s implementation date from Jan 1, 2011 to July 1st, 2011, according to Pat Conway the county licensing and inspecting official. Commissioner Hodge has said that if this delay is approved, he intends to introduce an ordinance eliminating the sprinkler requirement.
Right now President Mullin is starting the meeting. We’ll blog some brief headline style live coverage from the hearing and prepare a full report after the meeting is over.
