From Red Righter
If Cecil County’s politicians and deep thinkers are really serious about protecting us from harm, they should pass more and tougher laws addressing the looming dangers we face every day. After all, keeping us safe from ourselves—at the expense of personal liberty and individual property rights—seems to be more important than revitalizing Main Street, expanding economic development and attracting good jobs into the area.
Right now the focus is on sprinklers. Not the outside, lawn growing kind. Instead, certain “experts” and fire phobia folks want these water wardens installed, initially, inside all new homes and apartments.
No one can argue these high-priced safety devices—just like multiple smoke detectors—will save lives, but at what financial and personal cost? . . . .
I agree with the Red Righter. Besides, as our ally E. Scrooge says, it’ll reduce the surplus population [of poor people].
