From the (Havre de Grace) Record
After Florida’s governor rejected $2.4 billion in federal funding for high speed rail improvements in his state, the money is being sought by Maryland’s governor.
If successful, Gov. Martin O’Malley would use some of the federal funds to replace all three Amtrak bridges in Harford County over the Susquehanna, Bush and Gunpowder rivers, a huge undertaking.
Other funds would be used to add another track between Perryville and Elkton to facilitate a plan to extend daily MARC commuter service from Harford as far north as Wilmington, Del.
