With Area Now Under Blizzard Warning, a Snowfall Accumulation Report from NWS

Elkton, Feb. 10, 9:00 a.m.  — This morning the National Weather Service cancelled it’s winter storm warning and placed Cecil County under a blizzard warning.  The storm will intensify today, creating extremely hazardous conditions.  The latest forecast map predicts 18.1 inches for most of Cecil, while the call for the lower part of the county, around Cecilton and Hacks Point, is for 15.inches.   

Here are some snowfall accumulation reports the Weather Service issued just before 9:00 a.m. this morning.  (The observation time is noted next to the report)   

New Castle County   

Bear 6.1 7:00 AM, Feb. 10   

Newark, 6.1 7:19 AM, Feb. 10   

Wilmington, 6.1 inches, 7:00 AM, Feb. 10 (NEW CASTLE CO ARPT)   

Cecil County   

Conowingo, 9.0-inches 8:17 a.m. Feb. 10   

Chesapeake City, 5.3-inches 8:39 a.m., Feb. 10 (Longpoint)   

Kent County   

Galena, 6.0 inches, 5:00 a.m., Feb. 10
