Still Waiting on Town to Provide Some Information About Proposed Water & Sewer Rate Increases

After the Mayor and Commissioners talked about approving a substantial utility rate increase but decided to hold on approving it until after the election, we filed a Freedom of Information Act request for information on the recommendation.  In a workshop, the officials went over an email or transmittal document that outlined the rate and other details.  After mulling over that document they decided it was best to consider it in June.  We’ve received some of the requested information, but not the memo so Someone Noticed has followed up on our Freedom of Information Act request.  When we checked, the town said it was unclear what we were seeking so we’ve restated our interest, the transmittal document outlining the recommendation discussed as option D.  As soon as we receive that we’ll produce a follow-up report on the water and sewer rate increases that will be up for approval after citizens go to the polls in May.
