Heavy Snow Storm Expected for Cecil County

From NBC Philadelphia —-

Forecast Update as of 3:30 p.m., Dec. 25, 2010 — After several days’ worth of computer model flip-flops, the big snowstorm possibility appears likely as a potentially crippling Nor’Easter could dump more than a foot of snow on parts of the area.

On Christmas afternoon nearly all of the computer models were suggesting major snowfall for most of the area, with higher amounts closer to the shore. Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service put out a Winter Storm Warning for Sunday into Monday for almost the entire Philadelphia region.

The Philadelphia area is now expected to get 10 to 20 inches, with more possible along parts of the Jersey Shore and less further west.

Light snow is expected start to accumulate from 6 to 10 a.m. Sunday — possibly overnight in some areas — and we could have a couple of inches on the ground by noon. Snow should increase in the early afternoon.
